Design

I design your site, from a simple one-page portfolio to a fully-fledged e-commerce site, from scratch. I deliver it on time and on budget. And I never oversell - if I think your web needs can be served by a £10 template site, tweaked to perfection, then I'll say so.

Hosting

I host a select number of my clients' sites on my own servers, and have simple, affordable, and easy to understand hosting packages. You only ever pay for what you need, so you won't find yourself paying for web space, email accounts, or aliases you'll never need or use.

E-commerce

I specialise in Magento, the most powerful open-source e-commerce system available. From full sites to small jobs (tweaks, problem-solving, debugging, installing and amending extensions - that sort of thing), I can help, with competitive hourly rates and references available on request.

PORTFOLIO

THE YORKSHIRE PANTRY

A fully fledged e-commerce website utilising on the open-source Magento platform.

Based initially around an off-the-shelf theme which has subsequently been substantially amended to produce a considerably improved design (both from the design and coding perspectives), this is a fully-fledge e-commerce website, and comes with all the features which one would expect from a site run on Magento, the powerful open-sourced e-commerce platform.

In the design I wanted to project the store's crisp, clean and contemporary image by using an unfussy layout, coding which was SEO-optimised from the outset, but to leave it space to grow as new features are added and the site's functionality is progressively enhanced.

A Magento e-commerce website for a producer of chilli jams.

Based around an off-the-shelf theme with substantial modifications to keep the overall look and feel of the site in-line with the existing branding of the customer, this is a simple yet powerful site.

An elegant site with information about a small North Yorkshire village.

A site originally based on an iWeb template, subsequently manually re-coded to cut out a lot of cruft and increase page loading times, which contains information for residents and villagers in this small North Yorkshire village.

A small site for a hobbyist stamp collection.

A simple and straightforward site which aims to catalogue every single giraffe stamp ever issued. Easy navigation and a nice lightbox effect for enlarged pictures complete the detail.

An online presence for a small North Yorkshire village pub.

We created this site for a small pub for its first forrays into the online world. Easy to update, based around a simple layout with an elegant feel, it's a starting point from which they can grow their online presence.

A porfolio site for a small cottage business.

Built in Wordpress, so the clients can administer as much as possible of the site without incurring further expense. The fully dynamic background images and opacity of the layers above allow the backgrounds to come through, yet not overpower the content.

THE FOOD CREW

A holding page for a site currently under development.

We're not sure what this site will be, yet - it's a brand new networking group for people in the food sector in and around York. It's in its formative days and whilst decisions are made on which direction to take it in there's a minimalist holding page hopefully giving some slight indiciation of the edgy, new, feel to the approach being taken.
